![]() ![]() ![]() I am passionate that the joy of sport should be something that is accessible to everyone. Outside of my committee work I have had multiple management level jobs including experience leading groups, working with young people, professionals, people with disabilities and/or complex health needs, young people with challenging behaviours, and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This has required a proactive, innovative approach, excellent organisation and communication skills, and a ca-do attitude! I am currently in charge of organising the Edinburgh International Korfball Tournament, a two day event where teams come from all over Europe to participate. Through my committee roles I have had experience of working effectively as part of a team and organising events. I have been on the Korfball committee for 3 years, including elected President 2017-2018 this has given me an insight into the SU workings. I believe that I can utilise my skills to actively widen participation and promote sport at Edinburgh University. ![]() Cooperating with the SU, we introduced Archery-Tag EDex, where in allowing any individuals who haven’t engaged in sport before to take part and enjoy something new and different.Īs Team Manager for Scotland Rugby League Students, we are constantly looking for ways to grow our smaller sport and increase outreach to those who could play Rugby League for our team. This involved changes to the novice programme and timetable, increasing engagement within the club, both socially and competitively. Equal opportunity within sport, and widening involvement across all tiers of members – from beginners to performance as well as intra-mural, is vital to having a lasting impact on student experience.ĭuring my year as Captain of the Archery Club, we as a committee focused on increasing participation and member retention within the club. ![]()
